Meaning of Hypothecation?

What is Hypothecation?
"Hypothecation" Means a charge in or upon any movable property,existing or future, created by a borrower in favour of a secured creditor, without delivery of possesion of the moveable property to such creditor, as a security for financial assistance and includes floating charge and crystallisation of such charge in to fixed charge on the moveable property. The Mortgage of moveable property is called 'Hypothecation'. 

It may be described as a transaction where by money is borrowed by the debtor (owner of goods) on the security of the moveable property without transferring either the property or the possession to the Creditor'.
